Purpose of this Document
This paper has been prepared by the Department of Health and Ageing (the Department) as a basis for consultation with consumers of aged care services, the aged care industry and the general public regarding legislative amendments required to implement the Living Longer Living Better package of aged care reforms that were announced on 20 April 2012.This document outlines proposed reforms to be implemented through changes to the Aged Care Act 1997 and related legislation.
